Kitchens are usually that room in the home that you don’t consider making over when the time comes for the rest of the home to be done. It is sometimes the main room in a home that is used quite frequently for entertaining along with cooking. It may also be the most used room in the home that you spend your time in so why not make it more inviting? By doing little changes with paint, colors, and decor you’ll create a refreshed area for you to enjoy with family and friends.

Often kitchens are left out of redecorating plans until they get to the point where the whole thing has to be ripped out and a new kitchen put in. But you don’t have to go to all that trouble and expense just to get a new look kitchen. Just a few minor touches and you can completely transform the room.

As you know grease splatters and that will make a kitchen look older than it is. You also have to consider the wear and tear on the floor from people entering and walking on it daily. Dirt is the number one aging appearance you’ll notice when entering into a kitchen. By spicing it up a bit the dull look in your kitchen will bring new life into the home.

Flooring may need to be placed when it comes to the kitchen makeover. It doesn’t have to be expensive unless it is something you’ve been saving up for. Try a great linoleum floor which is available in sheets or even squares which you stick above your existing floor. It is less time consuming and easy to do alone.

As you know the linoleum floor isn’t too soft for the feet and back when you are cooking so why not add a great area rug around the sink and stove. This will give you comfort and more of a cozy feeling while your time is spent there. Again, area rugs are a great way to add more texture and design into the kitchen area along with a protection to the new flooring you placed down. It will take the most wear and tear before the floor receives it. And if there is food spilt, you can sweep it up and throw the area rug in the washer! How simple is that?

Your kitchen gets a whole new look when you add area rugs. Choose a favorite color scheme and buy rugs to suit. Base your redecoration on this scheme. Maybe paint the cabinets in a shade which complements the scheme, or put up some art work. Use the rugs as the basis of your new design, and people with think you’ve done a complete renovation of the kitchen.

Kitchen Design has never been so easy with these braided indoor outdoor rugs.
