We have a fairly new house, so no painting needed, but we are looking at making it look more homely you know adding extra touches. I want to know how to do this without going overboard or it looking cheap and nasty – but want to keep the costs to a minimum if possible., Please share your decorating tips and what goes with what. Also anyone have any great websites (preferably australian) that have tips and ideas and sites which sell (in aus) or ship to australia products such as vases, silk flowers, cushions photoframes and other home decor. ect. Thanks,
Go to hgtv.com they have great ideas for any project or decorating idea with a lot of pictures…..
To make your home feel homey you need to add mirrors all through the home, candles, you could use unique bowls and containers filled with randon stuff like button, bottle caps, etc. Also, keep books/mags on the tables for a homey feel. You could add area rugs, wall decor, pictures, throw pillows, add new harware(like cabinet knobs)and if you wanna cheap art buy posters and frame them yourself or use postcards or mag pages framed and hang them on the walls. Hope this helps!
Experiment with paint colors, a simple change in wall color can have dramatic effects on a rooms “feel”. And paint is fairly inexpensive…so if you don’t like it…change it! I once worked witha woman who painted her living room once a month…just for the change! Go crazy!

is a great inexpensive way to add color and variance to your home in a trendy way. They ship worldwide and best of all they are so inexpensive it high way robbery. Remember, furniture has the highest mark up and by buying NEW stuff, you will regret it. Here we have thrift stores, Goodwill, Salvation Army. I found this for Australia,

I have always been an avid fan of these awesome treasure troves. Now days, it is in style to visit these establishments because of this, donations are by far way more better. Buy anything that is real wood. You would be surprised what a little instant strip gel and a coat of wax/paint will do to an ugly piece. Use lots of frame arrangements to fill in empty walls. Go here for some ideas and ways to hang with out nails. Or check out DIY.com Good Luck. Happy re~designing/decorating
It depends on the total theme of your room and what you want it to look like. If you are deciding on a color scheme check out http://www.rugsdoneright.com — they have lots of different area rugs of different patterns, colors and types. I’ve shopped there before and they also have a low price guarantee. Worth checking out.
