I am having some in laws over who have been very mean to me and now that I am doing well, I want to kind of flaunt to them that I have money. Is there any specific decor to add to my home to show this off? Brands? Certain decor?

Buy the best quality anchor pieces that you can afford and stick to a neutral colored couch to keep it cheaper to add trendy touches. Anchor pieces are large furniture. And you can’t go wrong with a nice beautiful paint color. Instant success if you choose the color scheme that suits you furnishing and home.

Nothing, just be yourself. If you have it you don’t need to flaunt it….people with class will notice.

Almost every decorative item I own in my house is from goodwill, yard sales, estate sales, and thrift stores. If you go to the poshest cities/towns around you, you will find lots of great stuff for next to nothing. I used to live in a very affluent neighborhood near Atlanta and I would go to the goodwill there on certain days and get brand new name brand items that the rich people who lived there would dump. Call the goodwills and see what days they accept deliveries so you will be there when it arrives. When you go, look for art, expensive name brand clothes/suits, electronics, etc. You will be suprised what you can find – trust me. I bought a brand new pair of shoes that retail for $650 at the goodwill for $4. I also bought a marble bust that is really expensive for $10. Other than that, if you can afford it, go get a huge plasma TV and put it right smack in the living room where they can’t miss it. If you don’t have a really nice car, go rent one and pretend you just bought it. I love doing stuff like this to mess with people’s minds. Good luck! You don’t want to go blow a bunch of money because you will regret it when they leave. Just splurge a little.

the best way to flaunt your stuff is show th inlaws all your love for them and your spouse and family and show them u care.
just because you have money you don’t have to show it off. or you can pick up a home decorating magazine and copy one of their rooms but once you start you have to do the whole house and outside too which could run into all the money you have in your savings… better save it for a raining day not impressing the in-laws… and explain to your spouse that you don’t like the way your in-laws are treating you.

Here are some things I have done for some wealthy customers. Copper gutters, downspouts, and cover a bay window in copper. Copper is expensive. Have a slate roof put on your house. Custom made mural in your entry. I have allot of ideas – but I’d need to know your layout – How much land you have, What type of landscaping. Type of design or style of your house (inside and out). Upgrade the electronics in your house – Alarms, Home Sound System. Hot tubs Whirlpool, Enclosed swimming pool. Color Stained or tile sidewalks and driveway.

Decorate with a mature, sophisticated style. Don’t over do it with having everything match. There are home decorating websites and magazines that can be helpful.

Well, all I can think of is crystals, a collection of rare things (raptor’s claws fossil, diamond hope, Hitler’s suicide gun, etc.), or a cool interior design and furniture choices of your own house. For the last one, I’d recommend a minimalism design but make it very personal, in other words, it reflects yourself. Use personal items like photos which shows who your friends are, items that shows places you’ve been (like seashells you hand-picked at Hawaii or Hilton’s bath soap and towel), or items that you made yourself. Good luck on this.

If you are doing pretty well, you could hire a decorator to come over…I think that says something about you if you had your home professionally decorated. If not, I would say don’t skimp out on pieces, everything should be large scale. Also I know in my area you can rent out original art work for your home from the local art galleries (don’t know what it cost) but people do it when they are hosting parties and want to look good and it is good for conversation. Don’t forget about nice glassware as I’m sure they will be staying for a drink, maybe keep some nice kinds of drinks and food in the house, if they want a glass of water offer them sparkling or flat, etc. If they stay for dinner, have nice dinnerware and If they are staying over, make sure the bathroom and guest room are stocked to the nines, like it’s a hotel or something. The flip side is that if they are mean they will probably comment that you are spending all your money, or how different you are now. People like that will just find new fault and with wealth they only get eviler, so good luck.
