Raccoons are causing a problem….?

Does anyone know of any ways to stop raccoons from getting into our trash? Thre is a guy that sets traps in our area, but he wanted crazy money for it! Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

You can use metal cans and lock down the lids, but raccoons are really smart, they can probably figure a way in. To keep them out of my garden I sprinkle human hair around the area. You can get it from any salon ( they throw it out) Just ask them for a bag full of clippings and sprinkle it around the area. If that doesn’t work, you can buy or build a bin and put a padlock on it. Stick your cans inside and lock them up. Good Luck!
