In November of last year the antiques world was taken by storm when a Qianking imperial vase with a fish motif sold for £53m to an anonymous Chinese buyer. Thought to be the coup of the decade in the antiques world many thought it was a one off sale in the declining world of antiques.
However, how wrong observers were. Chinese art collectors are now coming to UK antiques market venues hoping to bag some hidden treasures. Trade across the antiques fairs and auction houses seems to be booming as these millionaire collectors search for stunning antique pieces. Regional sellers have seen a huge jump in their trade and are shocked that sales as high as this are being made.
The Chinese are scouring the whole of the UK antique markets and auction houses to try and find the valuable items that can make them huge profits. Based on this many are now looking in their chest of treasures for items including Chinese porcelain and imperial jade are the ones that hold the most value and are items that draw the most attention to new antique enthusiasts.

5 ways you can hurt antiques
1. Cleaning wrong
Cleaning antique objects may be more desirable and valuable, but it is not always the case.
