One of the easiest ways to improve not only the look but the value of your home is through painting. Even though it’s an easy improvement to do, it is one of the best things you can do for your house. In this tough economy, anything that can improve the value of your home is going to be worth pursuing.

So here is the 6 simple steps to painting your house right the first time.  These steps come from my experience in being a painter San Diego.   So it should be beneficial and of use to doing the job correctly.

Owning a painting San Diego company has helped me prove these steps over and over again.  So follow the steps outlined here and watch your home improve in value and turn into a beauty.

First step in this process is the preparation of the surface.  Unless your house has been through a war, there shouldn’t be too much preparation.  All you are going to need to do is be sure it is smooth and sanded if you have to.

Second step is priming.  This is an easy step and the object is to make sure the primer you use is tinted as close as possible to the finish color.  This makes it much more simpler to apply the final coat of paint.

Third step is a surface preparation step once again.  This step is used to make sure you haven’t missed anything from the first go around.  Things like holes caused by nails, or any other blemishes like dents in the wall.  You will use a drywall compound to fill in any of those holes.

Fourth step is to put on that first coat of paint.  With this part of the process you are going to want to paint brush one wall at a time.

Fifth step to follow will be preparing the surface once again.  You are doing this to check over the surface one last time to make sure it is smooth prior to the last coat of paint.  Once again, any imperfections you find can be fixed with a drywall compound.

Final step in this process is applying the last coat of paint.  This is going to be the best part because your hard work will now all come together for you to see.  So once more, you are going to paint one wall surface at a time.  Be sure that the coat of paint has been evenly distributed.

Follow all these six steps and you will be pleased with the outcome of your home improvement.  A beautiful coat of paint can turn a drab and dreary room into a beautiful new looking room.

With the cost involved in doing a simple room paint job, your return on investment will be huge.  I have seen it firsthand add thousands to the value of the home in my San Diego painting company.   This simple house painting job has the possibility of adding tens of thousands of dollars in what your house is worth.

In this day and age of a bad economy most people are cutting back on expenses. One of the major things they usually avoid is home improvements.

In a great economy, home improvements are all over. Contractors are happy and busy with work. But when the economy goes south, you feel it in businesses that are in contracting.

But I would like to mention that when you paint your house in this economy, it is actually a great use of your money.  I should know living in San Diego where you can definitely feel the housing slump, painting San Diego houses definitely helps.

Let’s take a look at some reasons why. Two ways to look at it are if you are going to sell your house or plan on keeping it.

If you plan to sell the house, painting your house is a wise economic move. With the crash of the housing market, and falling values of homes, most homes won’t sell fast.  The ones that do sell are the ones that look the best.  Buyers are picky and they wait for what they want.

Well if you choose to hire a painter, not only does it make your house look better, it actually improves the value of your home.A house that looks new and freshly painted will sell much faster than an old house with no improvements.

So by hiring a professional painter to paint your house inside and out, that expense is really a good investment.

Now if you don’t plan on selling, what could be the benefits of doing some painting? Homeowners all over usually want a nice place that they live in. In an economic time of less money for expenses, painting is actually a pretty inexpensive home improvement
I have seen this first hand as a painter San Diego.

A new coat of paint will make your house look just like new. Do it for inside your house as well as outside and you create a great place to live.

When you are unable to afford spending on a room addition, painting offers a great alternative.

When a remodel of the kitchen or bathroom is not affordable, a fresh coat of paint makes that room look like new.

In these uncertain times economically, a lot of times you are unable to do the things you want to with your home.  Hiring painting San Diego contractors gives you that flexibility to still improve your home with little costs.

To most families, their home is an integral part of their lives.  Not only just for living in it, but also, family life goes on there, great times, and leisure time.

Well when it is time to do some work on the home, such as painting, this could be a very stressful and disruptive time in their lives.

With that being the case, I would now like to you give you some invaluable advice on how to choose the right contractor.  This advice comes from years working with homeowners and also running a San Diego painting company myself.

At first, having to pick a good painting company doesn’t seem like a big job.But if you think about the fact that this work can cost thousands of dollars if not more, and also cause a major disruption in your daily life, and of course can either result in a beautiful job or a horrendous job. This is a very big decision.

So here are some tips from my experience as a painter San Diego.

First, you will want to get several quotes from various contractors. You aren’t just trying for the best price. You are doing this so you will be able to get to know the company that you will be working with.Of course when you do get a great price, that’s great, but don’t let that be your driving force.Remember, you want a great job to be done.

Second, you will want to know what type of guarantee or warranty they have on their work.See if the company makes a strong guarantee about your satisifcation.  This shows how confident they are in their work.

Thirdly, you will want to know when and how soon can they start. Also, you want to start to get an idea on how fast they think they can get it done. When you have to cause a disruption to your life, like having to paint your house. You will have to know
how quickly they will get your life back to normal.

Finally, get references of previous customers.  Contact them and see what they felt of the company.See how well they did the job, if they did it on time, and if they are a good company to work with.

Do these steps and you can ensure yourself with as little stress as possible during these very stressful times.  Take it from my years of painting San Diego, doing these few steps will help you greatly.

Epoxy floor paints are used on floors that are subjected to heavy vehicular and human traffic, like the garage and the basement. They also work well on laundry room floors, shop floors, brick pavers, concrete slabs, kennels, pole barns, interior floors and on wooden car trailers. These floor finish is made such that it resists oil, dirt, water, grease, and many other contaminants that would make ordinary paint a mess. Tough resins that are mixed during the application are responsible for this. This makes them the most cost effective solution to floor coating.

You can find three separate epoxy concrete paint types. You need to know that 100% solids do not have any solvents that can evaporate into thin air. Number two are solvent based epoxies that penetrate and adhere quite well, but these are dangerous to health and you will have to vent your garage while you are applying them to the surface, due to heavy fumes. Thrid option are water based paints that have anti-slip texture, are cheaper and thinner while not containing any dangerous fumes. You will have to apply a lot of ventilation to dry these up.

When you are applying your paint to the surface, you have to clean it with a hard bristled broom first to get rid of all the dirt, and then use some soapy water on that smae floor so the sweeping will be easier. You need to use a degreaser to remove all those soluble contaminants so your entire surface will be cleaned. If the water sticks on the epoxy coating, that means that your concrete floor is not clean yet. you will then have to leave your coating to dry until the next day. Then simply apply the first layer of paint the next day. A fantastic finishing coating will need two or three layers of paint. Keep a clean cotton rag ready when using water based epoxy, and an epoxy thinner for solvent based epoxy to clean up any epoxy drips and spills.

Its toughness, its durability, its easy to clean finish, its salt and acid resistance is what endears me to this paint. Well, but these can only be attained from proper preparation, proper application and the time that you will give it to cure before you bring back your vehicle or allow traffic back.
