The surprising agony and euphoria witnessed at the Tax Office

I was just not aware of the fact that I would land up being a hero when I was asked to come to the Riverside Tax Office by the Deputy Tax Officer. But this credit was not to rest on my head before I lived some amount of pain. I somehow thought getting work executed by state and local officers was just about an issue of “Much Ado about Nothing!” I never really thought getting a small job done over there could widen over many agonizing hours. When I got a call from the local Tax Office of Riverside asking me to come and collect my Tax refund cheque, hardly did I know that it would be burdensome to get it collected even though they themselves had asked me to stop by and pick it up. For my readers, I am reconstructing the scene here – On reaching their office on Monday morning, I get to view there is a huge line of persons, all waiting to get their cheque in their hand!! Who doesn’t love money visiting them? Anyhow, amazingly, the line was spilling a good length out of the office building into the side lawn. I knew I had a long wait in before me. My turn did at last come, after a grueling two and a half hours, only to realize that I would have to wait for some more time as the bathroom tap of the office washroom had become wobbly and refused to block the water flow. Because of this, floor was getting damp with water. Wow!! I simply stood wondering what Riverside Plumbing had against me to have deferred my cheque!!! I stood hoping that God sends some Riverside Plumbers to get this sorted immediately. Suddenly, it hit me! I can attempt dismantling the tap washer and grease it to make it firm once more. Therefore, I volunteered to have a go at it. I had the trouble solved, in 5 minutes! I was so proud of myself. All tax officials thanked me generously. They thought that I was a extremely skillful Riverside Plumber who came as their rescuer! Imagine!! Right away, the cheque was handed over to me, and I was also treated with complete royalty and coddling.
