My fiance’ and I are buying our first home this summer and I am trying to get a head start on items we will need. I have already purchased all our everyday dinnerware. What are some other low to moderately priced items I can look into buying as well? (I’m not talking about couches, tables, etc.)
And would it be wise to purchase bathroom decor and towels without first knowing what the bathroom will look like?
Cooking and cleaning items will be the priority. You can’t buy towels, washcloths and such without knowing the colors you will be working with. You will still need some of these items to get you by while deciding on your decor and color choices for the future though. White matches everything.
You could buy the towels in the color you would want your bathroom to be. Then after you purchase your home you could add to that scheme. Your cleaning supplies and cookware, a lot of times you get these items as a gift for the wedding. So pictures you would want in the rooms is another suggestion, and bedding. Knowing the amount of windows in the home would be helpful and the size, you could buy the curtains. It would help if you knew everything about the house first. But the other items would be a good start.
