Rust color would work nice.
I’d go with a lighter color, to offset the dark color of the paneling, like white or light blue
Your window covering could match an accent color that you use in the room – such as, the pillows, vases, lamp bases, etc. Any color will blend with the maple paneling – just make the window coverings match your main color of the room.
I used to have a mobile home with dark paneling. If you want it cozy and warm feeling then use a “rich” color, like maroon or darker blue. If you want to brighten the place use a lighter color like beige. I would stay with a solid color though, so it looks more classy (you want to make sure no one mistakes your curtains for the rugs your neighbors put in their windows). Good luck!
