I have an oak table from Ikea that I want to paint or stain black to match the decor in my home. It has a glossy finish to it. I looked up Krylon paints but there were several options. I don’t have a whole lot of space to do this. I would be taking the table and chairs outside to my small patio. Any info would help, thanks!
well, since you’re painting it darker you won’t need any paint with primer. i would think you could paint it with wall paint. when you’re going out to buy it, though, ask someone who works there. they may have tips if we don’t tell you enough.
First you will have to lightly sand it with 220 sandpaper and then apply a coat of oil-based primer(which you can have tinted). Get the spray cans of primer and it will be faster. Let the primer cure for an hour and then spray paint with the finish of your choice. I would choose a satin black. Spray with several light coats giving 15-30 minutes between coats.
