My room is white and we’re not allowed to paint it because we’re renting. I can hang anything on the wall with tape because it pulls off the drywall, and i am in sixth grade and i want all colors, not just the really boring colors.
Answer:
Yeah, white can be boring, but it does not have to be. Go to the clearance section of a fabric store and buy fabric to hang, with Tack Again from ceiling to floor. Tack Again is found at JoAnn Fabrics and is a product that holds things without damaging walls. Or, use 3M Command removable fasteners. No fabric on the entire room or even an entire wall–just a couple, maybe three, lengths of fabric evenly spaced apart on one wall. This will add a lot of much needed color and texture. You could even select one length in a pretty pattern with great colors for the center panel and the other two with solid matching colors. Then, use some extra fabric for accents in the room, like to cover a lamp shade, make pillows for the bed and maybe a dresser scarf. Paint a chair, a bookshelf or an end table a bright color to match. The white will fade away and the fabric colors will be center stage. This is the easiest way I can think of to add color to your room without paint or nails. OR, paint one wall a crazy colors in stripes. THEN PROMISE YOUR PARENTS YOU WILL PAINT IT WHITE AGAIN before you move.
